Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) represents a useful form of transportation of a not big product that does not require a lot of space and can be very often transported on pallets. This method takes advantage of spare area in the car by putting together a few separate freightages. Less than Truckload is economical as companies have an opportunity to distribute the shipment cost with the others that also have to use a fraction of the cargo space available in the car. LTL shipments commonly have a weight of between 151 and 20,000 pounds.

Trucks that are used in the LTL weigh more than 3.5 tons and should be compatible with the rules set in a given region. There are plentiful of kinds of vehicles which could be used in the LTL shipping, but they should be always properly suited to the type of the elements that will be transported.

The price of the delivery is subject to a few factors. Firstly, magnitude and weight of the freightage. The person who order a shipment should also present a delivery man data about the packaging. You should also mention what you wish to be incorporated in the service – is it only the transportation or does it also consist of loading and unloading.

If you notice that volume available via the LTL does not suffice to ship your product, you may want to choose a different option – full truck load (FTL).
