Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) constitutes a good way of transportation of a not big cargo that does not need a big surface and is usually transported on pallets. This method takes advantage of spare space in the car by putting together more than one autonomous freightages. This method is economical because businesses can split the transportation costs with the others that also are willing to take a share of the area available in the truck. LTL shipments usually weigh between 151 and 20,000 lb.

Vehicles which are used in the LTL have a weight of more than 3.5 tons and have to be in accordance with the arrangements constituted in one region. There are many kinds of vehicles that are appropriate to be part of the LTL, but they have to be always correctly tailored to the size of the cargos that will be delivered.

The price of the transportation is based on a few features. First of all, content and mass of the commodity. The principal need to also provide a delivery man data about the packaging. It is also worth mentioning what you hope to be covered by the service – is it no more than the transportation or does it also encompass loading and unloading.

When you notice that the cargo space available via the LTL is not sufficient to dispatch your product, you should decide to use a different option – full truck load (FTL).
