Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) is a good method of shipment of a smaller consignment that does not need a big surface and can be often transported on pallets. This method utilizes spare surface in the car by merging a few different cargos. Less than Truckload is economical since principals have an opportunity to split the shipment cost with the others that also have to take some part of the surface available in the truck. LTL shipments mostly weigh between 151 and 20,000 pounds.

Vehicles that are used in the LTL weigh more than 3.5 tons and should be congruous with the rules set in one location. There are many types of trucks that are suitable to be used in the LTL shipping, but they must be always correctly suited to the size of the commodity that are going to be a part of the cargo.

The charge for the transportation may vary depending on several features. First of all, volume and mass of the cargo. The person ordering should also present a transporter an information about the packaging. It is also worth mentioning what you wish to be included in the service – is it nothing but the shipment or does it also include loading and unloading.

In case that you notice that volume available via the less than truckload does not suffice to dispatch your object, you may decide to use another option – full truck load (FTL).
