Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) constitutes an effective method of transport of a smaller commodity that does not take a big surface and may be often placed on pallets. Less that Truckload benefits spare space in the car by a consolidation of a few distinct freightages. LTL is economical because people have an opportunity to split the shipment cost with other people that also have to take a share of the cargo space available in the truck. LTL shipments normally weigh between 151 and 20,000 lb.

Vehicles that are used in the LTL weigh over 3.5 tons and must be accordant with the arrangements constituted in a particular country. There are different versions of cars that may be used in the LTL, but they have to be always correctly adjusted to the size of the elements that are going to be dispatched.

The financial aspect of the transportation depends on several aspects. Primarly, size and weight of the product. The principal need to also provide a transporter an information about the way the product is packed. You should also mention what you expect to be covered by the service – is it no more than the transport or does it also include loading and unloading.

If you realise that volume available via the less than truckload does not meet your requirements to ship your cargo, you may use a different option – full truck load (FTL).
