Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorcycles and scooters are not only valuable, but also hard to protect when shipped. However, it turns out that the majority depends on the way we do it and how much prior experience with transport we have. It is doable to ship a motorcycle or a scooter without hussle, no doubts about that. The way it will be secured depends on the type of transportation. Owing to some useful tips you could avoid any scratches, and dents that are likely to happen when a scooter or motorcycle is not properly secured.

When you are moving your motorbike using a trailer you will need 4 belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer that is dedicated for motorcycles or scooters, it already is equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this situation you will need only two strapping belts. It's essential to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one will not open up accidentaly during the transport.

It is also worth checking the sharp edges or items that may possibly rip the belts and make it impossible to safely transport your motorcycle. It's also feasible to transport a motorcycle inside a truck. The protection and equipment needed to keep the motorbike resting safely in one place will not differ too much from other ways mentioned before. One thing that should be taken under consideration is installing the side pads to protect the insides of the truck and other objects that may be transported next to the motorbike.

There are also platforms that hooked to a truck or van, can let you transport your motorbike not occupying the entire space in the truck.

It is important to check with the shipping company if the equipment they provide will be enough to ship your motorbike. For example, using a wooden platform for lifting your scooter and loading it in a van could pose danger to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause severe damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When listing your motorcycle on Clicktrans you will receive  lots of great offers from transport providers registered on Clicktrans.

Many of these companies can arrange the transport, so that they can utilise the full capacity of their cars. Thanks to that, shipment gets cheaper and more eco-friendly with decreasing number of „empty runs”.
