Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) poses a good way of transportation of a relatively small freight which does not take a big surface and is often transported on pallets. LTL exploits free space in the car by putting together several independent freightages. Less than Truckload is cost-effective since people can share the transportation costs with other people that also are willing to take some part of the cargo space available in the truck. LTL shipments normally weigh between 151 and 20,000 lb.

Vehicles specialised in the LTL have a weight of more than 3.5 tons and have to be congruous with the specifications being in force in one location. There are numerous types of cars that are suitable to be used in the LTL shipping, but they should be always appropriately suited to the size of the cargos that will be shipped.

The financial aspect of the shipping is subject to several aspects. Primarly, content and mass of the freightage. The person ordering should also provide a carrier data about the packaging. Don’t forget to mention what you wish to be covered by the service – is it only the transportation or does it also encompass loading and unloading.

Whenever you notice that space available via the less than truckload does not meet your requirements to ship your cargo, you may decide to use a different option – full truck load (FTL).
