Less than Truckload (LTL) is a practical form of transport of a small product which does not necessitate a spacious place and is very often placed on pallets. Less that Truckload exploits free space in the truck by a consolidation of several separate freightages. This method is affordable since businesses may share the transportation costs with other people that also want to take a share of the surface available in the truck. LTL freightages mostly have a weight of between 151 and 20,000 lb.
Trucks specialised in the LTL weigh over 3.5 t and are required to be congruous with the rules set in a particular country. There are many versions of vehicles which could serve in the LTL shipping, but they have to be always adequately tailored to the dimension of the commodity which will be moved.
The cost of the shipment is subject to a few factors. First of all, magnitude and weight of the commodity. The person who order a shipment should also present a carrier an information about the packaging. You should also mention what you wish to be covered by the service – is it no more than the transport or does it also cover loading and unloading.
Whenever it turns out that the cargo space available via the less than truckload does not meet your requirements to ship your object, you should make use of its alternative – full truck load (FTL).
