Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) represents an effective mode of transportation of a relatively small product which does not take a big area and can be very often stored on pallets. LTL takes advantage of extra space in the car by putting together more than one autonomous cargos. LTL is affordable as people have an opportunity to share the shipment cost with the others that also need to take some part of the surface available in the car. LTL shipments usually have a weight of between 151 and 20,000 pounds.

Trucks which are used in the LTL weigh more than 3.5 t and need to be compatible with the rules that are in force in a given region. There are many versions of vehicles which are fit to be used in the LTL shipping, but they must be always adequately suited to the type of the products which will be delivered.

The financial aspect of the transportation may vary depending on several features. Firstly, magnitude and weight of the product. The person who order a shipment should also provide a delivery man data about the packaging. You should also mention what you expect to be incorporated in the service – is it simply the transportation or does it also encompass loading and unloading.

Assuming that you notice that area available via the less than truckload is not sufficient to transport your object, you could use its alternative – full truck load (FTL).
